The Mazda CX5 is a powerful yet economical car. The ride is smooth and comfortable with good legroom for all passengers. The XD L comes with leather interior unlike the XD. The front seats are heated and comes in handy for Nairobi cold weather especially in July. The car has good ground clearance and an All-Wheel Drive option is available, which is better especially if you go off-road once in a while. The CX5 also comes with iStop that switches the engine off in traffic, Rear Vehicle Monitory that monitors cars/bikes alongside the car to warn you from those blind turns, lane departure alerts. The driver assist system monitors the car/pedestrians in front of the car and the vehicle will engage brakes to avoid collision or hitting the pedestrians when the driver has delayed engaging the brakes. It has traction control to avoid wheel slipping, Adaptive Front-Lighting System that adjusts and optimises head lights according to driving circumstances, Tyre pressure indicator to show you when you have a flat tyre. For Music Lovers, most of the L version come with BOSE speakers at the front whose sound quality is great. No need for installation of aftermarket sub-woofers required in my opinion. On maintenance, the car is easy. The head gasket may be an issue but its replaceable for 30-40k. In general, given its performance, fuel economy, power, comfort and price vs rivals, I will give this car a 5 star.
